NOTICE TO MEMBERS

ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING
3.00pm Sunday, 11 October 2026
John Byrne Event Centre, Brothers Sports Club

All members are welcome to attend.

Business

• Confirm the minutes of the last Annual General Meeting
• Receiving of the President's Report
• Receiving the statement of income and expenditure, assets and liabilities for financial year 2025/26
• Receiving the auditor's report for financial year 2025/26
• Appointment of the auditor for financial year 2026/27
• Electing members of the management committee
• Recommendations

Nominations

Invited for the following management committee positions:

• Treasurer
• Executive Member

A nomination must be received in writing on the prescribed form no later than 3.00pm Sunday, 27 September 2026. Prescribed nomination forms can be attained from the Reception of Brothers Sports Club Bundaberg. A nomination must be accompanied by a proposer and seconder who hold voting rights.

Qualifications of nominated members for management committee positions are to be in accordance with Rules 14.2, 14.3 and 14.4 of the Constitution, which can be attained from the Reception of Brothers Sports Club.

Qualifications Required for Committee Nominations

Rule 14.2 Qualifications of Committee

Each Committee Member must satisfy the following criteria to be eligible for election and to be eligible to serve and continue to serve as a Committee Member:

• A Voting Member for at least two (2) consecutive years prior to nomination;
• Ordinarily resides in Australia;
• Not to be a paid employee of the Club, or a Committee Member and/or paid employee of any other club, organisation, company or body which is a recipient of grants from the Club (with the exception of those associated with Brothers Sports Club intra clubs);
• Completed, or have made a written commitment to complete, a Board-approved governance course reasonably approved by the Board prior to the election or within 60 days of taking office;
  • Failure to complete such a course may result in the Majority of the Board determining that the Board Member is suspended from the Board until the course is completed or the next Annual General Meeting at which point the position will be considered vacant.
• Thoroughly read and sign, as a confirmation that the contents are understood, a copy of the Club’s governance documentation, Constitution, By-Laws and Directors Code of Conduct prior to the election.

Rule 14.4 Qualifications of Treasurer

• Only persons who have an understanding of accounting procedures and an ability to read and understand the Profit and Loss, Balance Sheet and other financial reports, are eligible to be nominated for the position.

Rule 14.5 Rotational Terms for Committee Positions

• The Club has a rotational Committee whereby the positions come up for re-election every three years, in the following format:
  • Executive Member and Treasurer (2026)
  • Vice President and Secretary (2027)
  • President (2028)
